Lovely staff, attentive, and speaking a little English. Smoking room but didn't smell at all! Top notch meals, really excellent. The view was magnificent, from the room as well as from outside the hotel (they have a magnificent wisteria right in front, and even a very beautiful river just 50 meters away, we slept with the window ajar to hear the sound of the water, so nice). The public baths were small but very nice and clean. Fridge in the room, very practical.
No restaurant open nearby in the evening, we had to eat at Konbini (but that's very good too). Meal times at the hotel are quite early, especially for Westerners, but hey, we're here for the immersion!
